Kerala

I was lucky enough to go to another state for work. Had a LONG trip, no direct flights between Goa and Cochin. Delays! I know my way around Mumbai airport quite well now. Needless to say there's not much going on in the domestic terminal. Anyway once I finally arrived I was treated to visiting a great part of the country. Very green and lush, waterways, beaches, great architecture, spice and tea plantations, the list is endless. I travelled around by car, another great driver. A lovely man, excellent english. He was a guide before but has just returned to work in the tourist industry after losing his wife and 2 daughters in the Tsunami. Quite humbling.
Kerala is much more traditional than Goa, has high literacy and employment. Excellent hotels, beautiful surroundings, worked really hard and would love to go back. Long trip home from Trivandrium via Bangalore but guess what ..... I met a lovely Indian lady whos son went to Cranleigh boys school and who stays with friends in Godalming! How wierd is that to be sitting next to a local lady who knew where I was from. Spooky!
Anyway I can recommend Kerala for a holiday and can also make some excellent hotel suggestions! LOL!
Enjoy the pictures.
